As Aker Solutions’ global recruitment partner NES Advantage is now looking for a: Commissioning Engineer - Instrument for an exciting project at Mongstad.
 
The project will initially follow a 4-day workweek schedule and transition to a 14/21 rotation after Easter.
 
Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.
 
 
What will you be doing?
  • Execute commissioning activities in accordance with project procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform system walkdowns, inspections, and functional testing of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure mechanical systems are commissioned and handed over in line with project milestones and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with construction, engineering, and operations teams to resolve commissioning-related issues.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, including test records, punch lists, and handover packages.
  • Participate in planning and progress meetings, providing input on commissioning status and challenges.
 
 
We think you should have:
  • Proven experience in commissioning within oil & gas, energy, or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, piping, HVAC, and rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity with commissioning procedure.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Good knowledge of ProCoSys (DCP) and Fusion.
  • Experience working in a site-based environment, or on large-scale industrial sites.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in Norwegian (written and verbal).
  • Previous experience at Mongstad refinery site.
