We are now looking for a Electrical Engineer Power Cables who wants to strengthen our Umbilical & Cable Systems team at Lysaker and be a part of the exciting journey that has just started.


What will you be doing?   
You will lead the technical delivery of subsea power cable projects, including Direct Electrical Heating (DEH) systems, ensuring robust design, reliable operation, and successful project execution. You will:
  • Define the overall system architecture, including cables, hardware, and topside power supply and control systems
  • Support and execute Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies and contribute to business development activities
  • Lead the engineering and technical coordination of projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications, operator requirements, and international standards
  • Perform feasibility analyses for electrical systems, including power requirements, operating voltage, current limits, temperature envelopes along pipelines, and grounding/interference assessments
  • Develop engineering specifications and follow up on manufacturing activities for cables and associated hardware
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system faults
  • Provide technical support during offshore cable installation and testing
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Establish verification test programs and provide technical support during test execution

  • Have the following professional background and experience:
    • MSc in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
    • In-depth knowledge of Power Cable and Direct Electrical Heating (DEH) systems, with the ability to perform overall analyses
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience with subsea power projects and applications
  • Bring a strong commercial focus and continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Can manage multiple priorities effectively, both independently and as part of a team
  • Are committed to delivering high-quality work aligned with project plans
