Aker Solutions take care of energy assets in a Life Cycle perspective. From the start to end of production Aker Solutions ensures safe operations, optimizes field utilization, and enables field life-extensions. We do business development and execute modifications and maintenance projects. There is a global trend towards decarbonization, and we aim to help our customers to decarbonize their operations and measure their emissions to manage them more efficiently, for instance by delivering brownfield electrification of existing offshore facilities.

What will you be doing? 
Are you an experienced SAS Engineer ready to make a significant impact on high-profile energy projects? Join our dynamic EPCI modification and maintenance team in Stavanger, where your expertise will lead the design, integration, and optimization of safety automation systems crucial to project success. You will play a key role in fire and gas safety reviews, developing system designs for process, utility, and electrical systems, and collaborating closely with vendors to ensure seamless execution. Qualifications we think you should have:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a SAS Engineer within process control, monitoring systems, and safety shutdown systems (ESD, PSD).
  • Proven ability to specify, dimension, and integrate process control systems, fire & gas detection and protection systems, and safety shutdown systems including field devices.
  • Strong experience managing the procurement process for discipline or multidiscipline packages.
  • Advanced skills in developing and maintaining system design documentation, including system philosophies, specifications, and alarm specifications.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying NORSOK standards (I-002) and IEC/PAS 63131:2017.
  • Completed Ex basic & Exi basic training courses.
  • Offshore training (GSK) completed.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Norwegian language skills are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with safety systems, communication protocols such as Modbus and Profibus. 


Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience with Equinor projects and related tools (STID, SAP, Procosys).
  • Knowledge of third-party communication systems and engineering document preparation (F&G, C&E, SCDs, ESD/PSD block logic).
  • Experience with engineering document control and progress reporting.
  • Ability to perform offshore surveys and contribute to as-built documentation.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate degree, Vocational School diploma, bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in similar roles within the energy or offshore industry.

  • Position based in Stavanger, Norway – candidates must be available to work onsite.
