The Role
As our new Controls & Safety System Commissioning Engineer, you will:
Lead and execute on-site commissioning and startup activities for control and safety systems for ongoing project, ensuring systems are installed, configured, and tested according to project specifications.
Collaborate closely with project teams, control system suppliers during precommissioning and commissioning phases to ensure seamless integration and compliance with functional requirements.
Perform system validation and functional testing, including loop checks, interlock verification, and safety system integrity tests.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues on-site, providing technical support during startup and early operational phases.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of commissioning activities, including punch list management, test results, and system handover packages.
Maintain version control and configuration management of control system software during commissioning, ensuring traceability and compliance with project standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying lessons learned and contributing to standardization of commissioning practices.
Assist in lifecycle management of control systems post-startup, ensuring long-term reliability and maintainability.
We think you shall have:
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Controls or Automation engineering (or similar) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience from project work.
Expertise in Siemens TIA portal programming tools is desirable.
Multidisciplinary understanding with varied work performed system-related parts of the discipline.
Experienced in instrumentation cabling, cable tray layouts, and other related activities.
Experience in functional safety, IEC61511, worked with safety systems, SIL loops, Fire detection, Gas detection, and alarming systems is an advantage.
Experience working with commissioning control system interfacing with Gas Analyser and Chromatographs, mass & ultrasonic flowmeters, and gas and smoke detectors is an advantage.
Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to use standardized solutions for optimal design.
Preferably experience in the land-based industry.
