As Aker Solutions’ global recruitment partner NES Advantage is now looking for: Instrument Engineer – LC / DTR (Discipline Task Responsible) in Trondheim. This is a temporary position with an expected duration of one year.

Aker Solutions take care of energy assets in a Life Cycle perspective. From the start to end of production Aker Solutions ensures safe operations, optimizes field utilization, and enables field life-extensions. We do business development and execute modifications and maintenance projects. There is a global trend towards decarbonization, and we aim to help our customers to decarbonize their operations and measure their emissions to manage them more efficiently, for instance by delivering brownfield electrification of existing offshore facilities. Now we explore opportunities in the aftermarket for renewables, to deliver offshore maintenance for the renewable sector when the market is ready. Aker Solutions employs approximately 11,000 people in more than 20 countries.


What will you be doing?
  • Gain detailed understanding of the assigned scope for instrumentation
  • Provide discipline input during early-phase design and startup
  • Coordinate and guide other instrument engineers, when relevant
  • Ensure discipline scope is clearly defined and understood across the team
  • Maintain clear interfaces with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Plan and follow up on discipline activities and documentation
  • Estimate work, define schedule, and update plan as needed
  • Follow up interfaces with other engineering disciplines
  • Develop and maintain material take-off (MTO) and discipline budgets
  • Incorporate approved changes into the discipline schedule

We think you should have:
  • Experience with valves and valve procurement 
  • Prior experience with Aker Solutions projects or the Aker system 
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting junior engineers
  • Solid experience and knowledge of relevant design codes, regulations, and standards
  • Strong decision-making skills and a proactive work style
  • Clear communicator and good team player
  • Relevant education: Associate Degree, Vocational School, BSc or MSc
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative and fast-paced project environment
