The Engineering and Maintenance team plays a crucial role in the Moss production facility, ensuring machinery stays operational, meets quality standards, and complies with all relevant regulations. We are 15 professionals from diverse disciplines working closely together.

We are now seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team and play a key role in advancing our automation journey. Working with us, you will design and optimize control systems, support maintenance, lead projects, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. 


In this role, you will: 

  • Design and program control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networks
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automated systems to ensure minimal downtime
  • Develop system documentation, such as electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and user manuals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, process, production) to integrate automation into new and existing systems
  • Implement process control strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and repeatability
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Provide training and technical support to maintenance and operations staff
  • Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or enhancements
  • Lead or support capital automation projects from concept through commissioning
  • Provide input on budgeting work and improvements to electrical installations
  • Participate in the department’s technical on-call rotation when required

 

We are looking for candidates who: 

  • Want to work with industry-leading subsea technology and contribute to creating a sustainable energy future

  • Have a professional background and experience within: 
    • BSc or MSc in a relevant technical or engineering discipline, combined with at least 3 years of industry-related experience
    • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
    • Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, and industrial network protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus)
    • Exposure to MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) or Industry 4.0 initiatives
    • Knowledge of vision systems, sensors, and actuators
    • Experience with CAD software for layout and schematic design
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent communication and project management skills
  • Are proficient in both English and Norwegian, written and spoken
