Job Responsibilities
- Weld repairs to drilling and subsea equipment, onboard customer installations and onshore locations
- Act as HMH focal point, ensuring positive and professional interactions with customers
- Prepare detailed reports for engineering approval
- Be prepared to provide general technical direction to customers regarding operation, maintenance and repair of HMH equipment
- Proactive completion of safety observations and participation in Risk Assessments
- Provide absence cover for Kintore workshop
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally, for sustained durations at short notice
Skills and Qualifications
- Completed apprenticeship/SVQ Level 3 in Welding/Fabrication discipline
- Competent to follow and understand weld procedures and weld maps.
- Competent to carry out Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW / Stick 1g – 6g)
- Competent to carry out Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / Tig 1g – 6g)
- Competent in reading drawings and working to tight tolerances
- Understanding of pressure testing process and methods.
- Coding and/or weld qualification on pipe and automatic cladders would be advantageous.
- Be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative, taking the lead on projects when required
- Good organisational skills, managing travel bookings, expenses etc. in a timely manner
