Warehouse & Yard Operator  We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse & Yard Operator to join a leading energy industry client in Portlethen, Aberdeen. This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

About the Role The Warehouse & Yard Operator will support day-to-day warehouse and yard activities, including receiving, storing, preserving, managing, and dispatching inventory and equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safe material handling practices, and supporting efficient warehouse operations while adhering to HSE and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, store, move, and dispatch inventory and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment within the warehouse and yard.
• Perform inventory counts, asset verification, and system transactions using SAP and/or Oracle.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely completion of warehouse transactions.
• Support logistics, workshop, and service delivery teams to facilitate on-time shipments and deliveries.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in line with HSE requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, Lean, and 6S initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience.
• Previous experience working in both warehouse and yard operations.
• Experience using SAP and/or Oracle inventory management systems.
• Valid B1, B2, and B3 Forklift Certificates.
• Valid 12-Ton Forklift Certificate.
• Dangerous Goods Awareness certification.
• Dangerous Goods Shipping by Air and Sea certification.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials and equipment up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Preferred

• Current and valid certifications (non-expired) are highly preferred.
• Experience within the oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.

This role requires a well-rounded Warehouse & Yard Operator, not solely a forklift driver. Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience across warehouse operations, inventory control, yard activities, material movements, and logistics coordination.
