Role Summary: -
The Quality Control Inspector, Product QC performs quality inspections such as visual and dimensional of parts, assemblies and subassemblies. They ensure that the parts meet the design & manufacturing requirements and raise non-conformance when a defect is found. The role is specifically focused on mechanical product inspection within the Oilfield Services & Equipment (OFSE) Portfolio of Baker Hughes. The Quality Inspector, Product QC a full-time position that reports to the DC Quality Manager or Quality Control Lead.
Essential Responsibilities:-
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Ability to identify and use monitoring and measuring equipment needed to verify requirements.
- Responsible for performing inspections such as visual and dimensional. Inspection of the parts requires mechanical inspection equipment experience.
- Verifies completeness of all operations and records.
- Completes and maintains inspection records, inspection logs, calibration.
- Initiates non-conformance reports on all products, parts, assemblies and subassemblies that are not to requirements.
- Drives quality culture to their plant.
- Collaborates with site quality and manufacturing engineering on RCA, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Works with Baker Hughes management system databases and systems (SAP, Oracle BHOS, Agility, etc.)
- May participate in quality audits, material review boards, kaizens or root cause analysis.
- May need to program or calibrate inspection equipment
- Years of experience: 5 Years of Mechanical QC Experience
- Field of experience: Mechanical Quality Control, Electrical QC / ESD experience a plus
- Technical Skills: interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures; and use monitoring and measuring equipment needed to verify requirements.
- Soft Skills: Communication, works well with others, Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive work environment
- Tools or Software (Required / Preferred): SAP, Outlook, Excel
- Education Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 5+ years related experience
- Advanced knowledge of testing and manufacturing techniques and processes. Solid product knowledge. Proficient in the interpretation of Engineering drawing and customer requirements and specifications. Advanced skills in testing, inspection and examination techniques and result interpretation.
