Senior Process Engineer – Upstream Oil & Gas

About the Opportunity
Our client is an established international engineering and project execution organisation supporting complex offshore and upstream oil and gas developments. The company delivers engineering solutions across conceptual studies, FEED, detailed engineering, fabrication support and project execution for fixed and floating offshore facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join the Singapore-based engineering team and support the delivery of medium- to large-scale greenfield and brownfield projects.

The position is open to suitably qualified candidates based in Singapore and the wider region.

Employment Details
  • Contract: Yearly renewable
  • Monthly Salary: SGD 5,000 to SGD 8,000, depending on experience and suitability
  • Work Location: Singapore
  • Work Pass: Sponsorship will be provided for suitable candidates, subject to eligibility and regulatory approval
  • Overseas Candidates: Candidates relocating to Singapore will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transportation, as well as managing their personal tax obligations in Singapore

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Section Manager – System Engineering on a functional basis and to the Lead or Senior Process Engineer at the project level.
  • Execute process engineering activities in accordance with company work processes, procedures, quality policies and project requirements.
  • Review contractual requirements, scope boundaries and assigned responsibilities, and support the Lead Process Engineer with management-of-change activities.
  • Develop, review and update process engineering designs and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical process engineering input to interfacing disciplines in coordination with the Lead Process Engineer.
  • Support multidisciplinary engineering coordination and ensure process requirements are effectively incorporated into the overall project design.
  • Prepare, review and update key process engineering deliverables, including:
    • Process simulations
    • Process and utility flow diagrams
    • Piping and instrumentation diagrams
    • SAFE charts
    • Equipment sizing calculations
    • Hydraulic calculations
    • Equipment and instrument process datasheets
    • Process design philosophies and technical specifications
  • Provide technical input for equipment and package specifications, bid enquiry documents, technical bid evaluations and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with equipment manufacturers and package vendors to ensure compliance with the project Basis of Design, client requirements, applicable standards and project specifications.
  • Review vendor documents and resolve process-related technical queries in coordination with the Lead Process Engineer and relevant disciplines.
  • Identify and assess technical risks within assigned areas and ensure suitable preventive or mitigating measures are implemented.
  • Manage the progress of assigned process engineering scopes and deliverables in accordance with the approved project schedule and budget.
  • Support project verification activities conducted by classification societies, independent verification bodies and other relevant approving authorities.
  • Represent the Process Engineering discipline during project meetings, design reviews, audits, verification activities, technical workshops and client discussions.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, design review and other process safety or technical assurance workshops where required.
  • Ensure identified technical issues are followed through and resolved within the required timeframe.
  • Maintain the technical integrity and quality of all assigned process engineering activities and deliverables.
  • Ensure process designs comply with project-specific performance, operability, integrity, quality and HSE requirements.
  • Provide technical support to fabrication, construction, commissioning and site teams when required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, procedures, tools and discipline practices.
  • Support knowledge sharing and experience transfer within the Process Engineering discipline.
  • Perform other relevant duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Minimum five years of relevant process engineering experience within a multidisciplinary engineering environment supporting upstream oil and gas projects.
  • At least two years of experience as a Senior Process Engineer or in a comparable position.
  • Relevant experience working on fixed and/or floating offshore installations.
  • Previous involvement in medium- or large-scale greenfield and/or brownfield projects within the upstream oil and gas sector.
  • Good understanding of engineering project phases, milestones, discipline deliverables, procurement activities and internal and external technical interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience developing, reviewing or updating process engineering deliverables, including:
    • Process simulations
    • Process and utility flow diagrams
    • Piping and instrumentation diagrams
    • SAFE charts
    • Equipment sizing and hydraulic calculations
    • Equipment and instrument process datasheets
  • Experience coordinating with other engineering disciplines, equipment vendors and package suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of applicable oil and gas industry standards and regulations, including API, ISO, NORSOK and relevant European Union directives.
  • Proficiency in process design and simulation software such as HYSYS, UniSim, Flare System Analyzer, PIPENET or equivalent tools.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
