Role Summary: -
The sourcing specialist would be responsible for supporting the procurement and sourcing activities of the organization by ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of goods and services. The role involves managing supplier relationships, processing purchase requests, negotiating with vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting operational requirements while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Essential Responsibilities: -
- Execute purchasing and procurement activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Source materials, equipment, and services from approved suppliers to meet business requirements.
- Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, proposals, and pricing to achieve the best value.
- Support supplier selection, onboarding, and performance management activities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules and resolve issues related to quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain optimization.
- Assist with contract administration and supplier negotiations where applicable.
- Generate procurement reports and provide data analysis to support sourcing decisions.
- Work closely with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies): -
- Years of experience: 4 – 5 years of experience in sourcing & procurement.
- Education Qualifications: Engineering Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical preferred
- Field of experience: Sourcing and Procurement
- Technical Skills: Read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, Organized and Hardworking
- Tools or Software (Required / Preferred): Oracle, SAP Ariba, Power BI, MS Office
- Industry Background or Experience (Required / Preferred): Oil and Gas industry
- Target Companies: FMC, Schlumberger, Subsea product manufacturers
- Off-limits Companies: None
- Required Accreditations / Qualifications / Certification / Licenses, including Driving License: Any supply chain certification will be a added advantage
