Role Summary: -
The Sourcing Experienced Professional – Buying/Procurement manages supplier relationships and executes procurement activities for complex Drilling Services Manufacturing, high value products and services. The role ensures timely material availability, supports operational and business requirements, drives supplier performance, and delivers improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and procurement efficiency. This role serves as the primary procurement contact for assigned Direct materials suppliers and is accountable for purchase order execution, supplier coordination, and delivery performance. It partners with planning, engineering, quality, operations, and other stakeholders to resolve supply risks, negotiate commercial requirements, ensure policy and contractual compliance, and maintain clear communication on delivery status and mitigation actions.

Essential Responsibilities: -

  • Manage end-of-the-end procurement activities and purchase order execution for assigned suppliers, products, and services.
  • Drive supplier on time delivery and ensure materials and services are available to meet production and business requirements.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for procurement, order, delivery, and commercial matters.
  • Collaborate with planning, engineering, quality, operations, finance, and supply-chain teams to ensure seamless order execution and alignment with business priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes sourcing policies, procurement procedures, approved contractual terms, and applicable governance requirements.
  • Analyze procurement data, supplier performance, spending, and market trends to identify cost saving, risk reduction, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage multiple suppliers, purchase orders, and competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of supplier performance, delivery risks, delays, recovery actions, and expected completion dates.

Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies): -
  • Years of experience: Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Field of experience: Procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Technical Skills: Experience managing suppliers of complex, high value, and long lead time products or materials.
  • Soft Skills: Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Tools or Software (Required / Preferred): SAP
  • Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Industry Background or Experience (Required / Preferred): Oil & Gas
  • Target Companies: Schlumberger, Haliburton, Weatherford etc

  • Experience coordinating multiple suppliers, purchase orders, and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to improve supplier delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Strong analytical capability and proficiency in procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present risks, priorities, and recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across planning, engineering, quality, operations, finance, and supply chain teams.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to perform effectively under changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and data analysis for planning, inventory, and performance management.
