The Material Coordinator is responsible for receiving, shipping, coordinating, and maintaining inventory across site operations. This role supports capital projects, sustaining projects, and ongoing operational requirements while ensuring efficient material handling, inventory accuracy, and warehouse organization.

The Material Coordinator is responsible for receiving, shipping, coordinating, and maintaining inventory across site operations. Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Material Coordination
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and yard.
- Organize materials, racking, shelving, and storage areas.
- Support contractors with receiving, moving, storing, and shipping materials.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts as required.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and coordinate material movement.
- Maintain material logs and ensure all documentation is complete, organized, and readily available.
- Process inventory transactions and material movements within inventory management systems.
- Create and maintain Material Test Report (MTR) logs and supporting documentation.
- Ensure inventory records remain accurate and up to date.
- Adhere to all site safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident reporting processes.
- Complete required training and certifications relevant to the position.
- Conduct work in accordance with established safe work processes and hazard assessments.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment.
- Receive, store, issue, and ship project materials as required.
- Distribute materials to contractors and project teams.
- Verify that all received materials include required documentation, certifications, and MTRs.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding shortages, damages, discrepancies, or deficiencies.
- Monitor delivery schedules and track incoming shipments.
- Assist with the development and improvement of material transfer and receiving processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material management and logistics.
- Receive and monitor operational material requirements.
- Utilize inventory management systems to track material locations, quantities, and movements.
- Maintain accurate warehouse data and support inventory optimization efforts.
- Ensure materials are stored, tracked, and managed efficiently.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Experience with warehouse operations, logistics, and material handling.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and databases.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehousing, Business, or a related field is considered an asset.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, or material coordination preferred.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment considered an asset.
- May provide guidance, support, and coordination to contractors and project personnel as required.
