A Field Specialist II - Drill Bits at Baker Hughes is a customer-facing role focused on ensuring successful and safe drilling operations by providing on-site technical expertise, managing customer relations, and evaluating the performance of drill bits and components. This role involves hands-on technical duties, troubleshooting at the wellsite, coordinating with customers and drill crews, and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry practices and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Customer & Field Operations: - Act as the primary point of contact, building trust and resolving customer concerns regarding drill bits and drilling services.
- Coordinate and communicate with customer representatives and drill crews on location.
- Perform hands-on technical duties for product line services and provide on-site technical support.
• Drill Bit Expertise: - Evaluate the suitability and effective use of drill bits and components.
- Ensure successful and safe downhole drilling activities.
- Troubleshoot problems and implement improvements related to drill bit performance and drilling operations.
• Safety & Compliance: - Maintain industry certifications and ensure up-to-date knowledge of safety standards.
- Execute all responsibilities safely, adhering to Baker Hughes HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and legal requirements.
• Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Possess a strong understanding of drilling operations and the environment where products and systems are used.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow detailed instructions.
Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies):
• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly with relevant equipment like ESPs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of downhole equipment and processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• A strong commitment to HSE and quality standards.
