Overview
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for executing assigned maintenance activities to support safe and efficient operations. The Technician works closely with engineers and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist mechanical engineers in planning, testing, and maintaining mechanical components and equipment such as engines, instruments, controls, robotics, and machinery
- Support the preparation of technical proposals and cost estimates
- Actively participate in all job safety processes and tools
- Review job plans and job packs prior to execution
- Identify and mitigate safety risks before commencing work
- Execute maintenance and repair work according to established plans and procedures
- Record and maintain accurate technical history using tools such as Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheets, and other systems
- Provide feedback to improve job plans and execution processes
- Request required work permits and notify Supervisor if permits are delayed beyond 30 minutes
- Relevant technical certification(s) in the applicable discipline or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend solutions
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams without direct authority
- Flexibility to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
