Senior Field Material Coordinator
Contract Duration:
1 year, 6 months (June 2026 - December 2027)
Location: Site-based (Alberta, Canada – as per project requirements)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, on site (40 hrs/week)
Position Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Field Material Coordinator to support a major EPC industrial construction project. This position operates in an Owner Representative capacity, providing on-site oversight of material procurement, logistics, inventory control, and construction material readiness.
The ideal candidate brings substantial EPC project experience, strong discipline in material management systems, and the ability to operate independently within a fast-paced construction environment. This role is critical to ensuring material availability aligns with construction execution and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of construction materials and equipment at site.
  • Act as an owner-side interface with EPC contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with material management procedures.
  • Track material deliveries, inventory levels, and consumption to support construction schedules.
  • Inspect incoming materials for quantity, quality, and specification compliance.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve material-related issues including shortages, damages, and shipment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate site material records, inventory reports, and status updates.
  • Utilize and support material management systems including Smart Materials, SAP (MM), and RFID-based systems (e.g., Jovix).
  • Coordinate laydown areas, material handling, and storage activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and site organization.
  • Communicate material status, risks, and constraints to construction, engineering, and procurement teams.

Required Experience
  • Proven experience supporting large EPC construction projects in industrial, energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working in an Owner Representative or owner-side oversight role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction material commodities including piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and bulk materials.
  • Hands-on experience with material management systems such as Smart Materials, SAP, and RFID/Jovix.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on site with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Project Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and prioritization skills in a site-based project environment.
  • Clear and effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multiple contractors and project interfaces.
  • Contract professionals with completed EPC project experience are strongly preferred.
